A Letter from the Founder

I started VITAROMA because I couldn't find a cleaning product I trusted.

Not trusted blindly — trusted because I'd actually read the label, understood every ingredient, and knew none of it was going to end up on my kid's skin or sit in the bottom of a "clean" dish.

That turned out to be a surprisingly high bar. I spent months reading labels. Most of them had one thing in common: "fragrance." One word. Legally, that single word can represent hundreds of undisclosed chemicals. No brand has to tell you what's inside it.

So I started asking why. Why is that acceptable? Why does the default in cleaning products — products that touch everything in our homes, everything our kids touch — involve ingredients nobody can read or verify?

I didn't have a good answer. I had a problem.

VITAROMA is my attempt to solve it. Every formula is built to a single standard: every ingredient disclosed, every claim verified, nothing that belongs on a toxicology list. It took longer than I expected. It cost more than I planned. And I'd do it the same way again.

Because the alternative is asking you to trust me. And you shouldn't have to — not when you can just read the label.

The Never List

What we'll never put in our formulas

These aren't aspirational commitments. They're current facts — verified by third-party testing, not just our word.

Synthetic Fragrance
Sulfates (SLS/SLES)
Parabens
Phthalates
Optical Brighteners
1,4-Dioxane
PEGs
Quats
Chlorine Bleach
Synthetic Dyes

This list isn't exhaustive — it's a floor, not a ceiling. We evaluate every ingredient individually before it goes into a formula.

Three things we won't compromise on

01 — Full Disclosure

Every ingredient. On the label.

We list every ingredient in every product. There is no "fragrance" catch-all, no proprietary blend, no excused omission. If it's in the formula, it's on the label.

02 — Third-Party Tested

Don't take our word for it.

Our formulas are independently tested to verify that what's on the label is accurate and that our Never List ingredients are genuinely absent. Not tested by us. Not tested by our manufacturer. By a third party. [PLACEHOLDER: certifying body]

03 — Fragrance-Forward

We don't hide from scent. We lead with it.

Clove bud essential oil anchors every Vitaroma product. Not a synthetic approximation — the actual plant extract, FDA GRAS, warm and grounding. Paired with bergamot and cedar, it's a scent built to last.

Why the Never List matters

Synthetic fragrance

"Fragrance" is a legally protected trade secret. A single fragrance ingredient can contain dozens to hundreds of undisclosed chemicals — including phthalates, allergens, and compounds linked to hormone disruption. We don't use it. Not ever.

Optical brighteners

Optical brighteners don't clean fabric — they coat it with UV-reactive chemicals to make it appear whiter. Those chemicals stay on the fabric after washing, directly against skin. We think clothes should be clean, not decorated.

1,4-Dioxane

1,4-Dioxane is a probable human carcinogen that isn't added intentionally — it's a byproduct of certain manufacturing processes. It won't appear on any label because it technically isn't an ingredient. Third-party testing is how you verify it's not there.

Chlorine bleach

Common in dishwasher detergents. Effective at killing germs — but also at irritating lungs, eyes, and skin, and at creating toxic byproducts when it reacts with other chemicals in your water or drain. We don't need it to clean your dishes.

Read the labels for yourself.

Every VITAROMA product lists every ingredient. No fine print.
